Original lithograph in colors on white wove paper by Marc Chagall. Titled Clown with Flowers, this work is a surrealistic portrait of a clown with a bouquet of flowers. It combines two of Chagall’s favorite themes, the circus and romantic love. Published in 1963 in Chagall Lithograph II, this lithograph is from the unsigned edition of several thousand. (There was also a signed and numbered limited edition. It was printed at the same time and from the same stones as the signed and numbered version.) This piece is number 399 in Mourlot’s Catalogue Raisonne of Chagall’s Lithographs.
