Original oil on panel painting, titled Village in the Brebant, by Belgian artist Maurice de Meyer (also known as Maurice de Mayer). De Meyer was a well known Impressionist painter who worked with Alfred Bastien and Henri Logelain, also members of the Belgian school. The painting shows a village scene with a village church on an overcast day. Brebant is a region around Brussels and is now divided into more than one province. The artist’s signature appears in red in the lower right.
